Citroen C3 Aircross is completely renewed. It grows in size and adopts the same stylistic language that we saw on the new C3. There will be space on board up to 7 passengers and marketing will begin in the summer. For the moment, however, the automaker wanted to offer only a preview of the new SUV. The technical details, especially those of the engines, will be communicated later.
We will also have to wait to find out the layouts and prices.
DIMENSIONS AND DESIGN
New Citroen C3 Aircross it is 4.39 meters long that is, approximately 23 cm more than the current model. Thanks to the increase in size it is also possible to have a third row of seats (2 foldaway seats in the boot) to offer space for 7 passengers. Unfortunately, the French car manufacturer has not provided information on the other measurements of the new car. We don’t even know, for the moment, the capacity of the trunk.
The design recalls that of the new Citroen C3, with a front that recalls that of the Citroen Oli concept, featuring a three-level light signature with one vertical bar and two almost blade-like horizontal bars. Overall, the new model features much more muscular shapes than the current C3 Aircross. On the front we also find the new logo of the French car manufacturer.
Unfortunately, Citroen hasn’t said anything about the interior and no photos of the cabin have been shared either. However, one can think of the presence of an infotainment system with a screen of around 10 inches. We will know more at a later time.
ALSO ELECTRIC
The new French SUV is based on the Stellantis Smart Car platform. For the new C3 Aircross, the French brand will propose endothermic, hybrid (Mild Hybrid) and electric engines. No technical details have been shared but as regards the Hybrid model, we will certainly find the 1.2 3-cylinder engine with a displacement of 75 kW / 100 HP combined with a gearbox that integrates a 21 kW / 29 HP electric unit. Engine already offered on the new C3.
We will have to wait a little longer for the complete specifications. At that point we will have a more complete picture of the characteristics of the new C3 Aircross.
