Telepass, everything changes: here are the new features arriving

Important news is coming for customers Telepassthe best known method for automatically paying the toll on Italian motorways but which over the years has offered more and more services which today also include the payment of car washes, taxi rides, trains, public transport and ski passes. Among the main changes are the increase in tariffs on season tickets, the Plus offer and the intention to also focus on urban centres.

How the subscription changes

From 1 July, also thanks to the competition of UnipolMove and Mooney, the price of the basic season ticket will be 3.90 euros (today it costs 1.83 euros), it will be possible to associate two plates in the same device and four additional services. Also at 3.90 euros here is the Plus tariff which will remain active for a year and a half until December 2025. Also from 1 July of the upcoming summer here is the new solution “Pay per Use“, “an offer which in fact provides for the charging of a ‘daily’ fee for the single day of use of the service”. For this offer, the device will be sent to your home and has no monthly costs or additional expenses: its activation costs 10 euros, then you will pay 2.50 euros only when you use all the services.

The inhabitants of Milan will be able to activate the service available for Area C so as to enter the center without a ticket but using the “Memo in App” service so as to always keep vehicle deadlines under control.

News for young people

Among young people who use the car less, the company has created a new, smarter solution called “Young”: it can be activated with a credit (or debit) card by including “the main mobility-related services present in the Telepass platform, excluding electronic toll and the related on-board device”. In this case, young people will not have to have the device at hand but will need the dedicated app downloaded onto their smartphone.

What changes for urban centers

As mentioned, in addition to the motorway network, greater emphasis will be given to services in urban centers with the “Top 50 Cities” project which intends to strengthen the quality and diffusion of the offer with the help of local public administrations to “improve the travel experience and save time in all major Italian cities, not just the larger ones”.

Telepass’s new objectives

Just over a month ago, Luca Luciani became CEO of the group: among Telepass’ ambitious objectives for the next few years is the investment of half a billion euros to increase technological power and also be at the service of urban mobility.

The objectives by 2030 are to reach ten million customers compared to the current seven and achieve a turnover of close to one billion euros.
