“Books under the stars” returns to Loiri Porto San Paolo

Loiri Porto San Paolo. One of the most anticipated events of the Loiri Porto San Paolo summer program is back “Books under the stars”the summer event dedicated to the presentation of books and meetings with authors.

It starts on July 2 with “Battaglie perse” by Gian Antonio Stella, in Porto San Paolo. The “Libri sotto le stelle” review, organized by the Municipality of Loiri -Porto San Paolo – Departments of Tourism, Culture, Sport, Entertainment, and Youth Policies, in collaboration with Studio Progetto 2 Impresa Sociale and with the support of the Loiri Porto San Paolo library, has reached its fourth edition. Eight book presentations and meetings with authors between July and August, always on Tuesdays, at 9:30 pm, in the square of the Social Center, in the village of Porto San Paolo.

We begin on Tuesday 2 July with “Battles lost – Montanelli environmentalist removed” by Gian Antonio Stella. With the signature of excellence of Corriere della Sera – author of successful books such as “La casta” and “L’orda”, “Odissee” and “Vandali. The assault on the beauties of Italy” – journalist Serena Lullia will discuss. Stella’s latest book allows us to discover a little-known aspect of Montanelli, certainly the best-known journalist of the last century. Famous for his uncompromising political polemics, his outbursts about the defects of Italians, and his attacks on politicians, Montanelli was also a profound, convinced environmentalist.

During his long career he fought many battles, almost all lost as he himself said, not only for the defense of Venice, perhaps his most famous crusade, but also against the looting of archaeological sites, the concrete assault on the coasts of Sardinia, hunting, the indiscriminate cutting of trees. Stella not only offers the reader the opportunity to get to know this aspect of Montanelli which has remained in the shadows through articles that are still current, but, joining his cry against the devastation of the territories, opens a reflection on the issues of environmentalism which are very topical today.

The other events with “Books under the stars” will be on July 9th with Maria Benedetta De Vito, journalist and ghostwriter and her “Cuoresardo”. On July 16th it will be the turn of Francesco Cossu, teacher of Italian literature and history of Tempio, to present his thriller “Dreams cost dearly”. On July 23rd Luana Murgia, writer and editor presents the fantasy novel for children “Mia and the triad of the Lumillie”. The lawyer Paolo Pinna Parpaglia closes the month of July with “The mystery of Tavolara”. Three events in the month of August: on the 6th Paola Gala presents “The great daughter”; on August 13th Giovanni Delogu illustrates to the public the poetic and narrative work “Passi. Sardegna. L’anima della natura”. The fourth edition of “Books under the stars” closes with Marialuisa Naitana Azzena with “I fornelli dei naviganti” scheduled for August 27th.
