They will be Maurizio De Giovanni, Alessandro Ricci, Giampiero Della Nina and the authors of detective stories and noir, the guests of the seventeenth edition of the Tralerighe festival in Barga 2024. The presentations will be held from 11 to 14 July at the Teatro dei Differenti and under the Menchi vault in Barga (Lucca). The event, organized by the municipal administration of Barga and Tralerighe libri editore, is part of the Barga Città che Legge (Mibact) and the Reading Pact of the Tuscany Region projects. The Poli bookshop of Barga collaborates in the event.

Thursday 11 July at 9.00 pm under the Menchi vault meeting with Giampiero Della Nina and the presentation of his essay entitled “Giacomo Puccini: family, friends, loves” (Tralerighe libri editore). The author will dialogue with Andrea Giannasi.
Giampiero Della Nina was born in Porcari (Lucca). Journalist-publicist, he has edited tax columns for “Il Tirreno” and for “La Repubblica”. His articles on the vernacular and local traditions appeared on the pages of “La Nazione”, and collected and distributed to readers in weekly installments. In addition to the book “Expressions and ways of speaking Lucchese”, which has been published in several reprints, he is the author of “La Lucchesia and its folklore” (2016). He has written numerous books on local history, all of which have been very well received by the reading public. He is the author of novels: Court People (2018), Like Grains of Sand. From the court to the country (2020), Paolo Celli actor and chef of the stars (2021). A lover of theatre, he has written numerous works.

The event is part of the Puccini Centenary events with a calendar created in collaboration between the Municipality of Barga, the Tuscany Region, the Province of Lucca, the Municipality of Glasgow, the National Committee for Puccini Celebrations, the Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation, the Banca del Monte Foundation of Lucca, Ricci Foundation, Giovanni Pascoli Foundation, Lucchesi nel Mondo Association, Giacomo Puccini Lucca Foundation, Simonetta Puccini Foundation for Giacomo Puccini, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Lucca Sviluppo Foundation, Toscana Spettacolo Foundation onlus, Conservatory of Music “L. Friday 12 July at 8.30 pm at the Teatro dei Differenti literary preview with the presentation of the books “The Tears of God” by Fabio Mundadori“I believe you” by Ciro Pinto and “The Rag Conspiracy” by Simona Teodori. At 9.00 pm on stage meeting with Maurizio De Giovanni.

Maurizio de Giovanni is a writer and screenwriter. Born in 1958 in Naples, where he lives and works, he loves to define himself as a visceral “fan” of his city. He is the author of the novels featuring Inspector Ricciardi, active in Naples in the 1930s. After “The Coccodrillo Method” (Mondadori 2012; Einaudi Stile Libero 2016; Scerbanenco Award), with “I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone” (2013) he began a new contemporary cycle (published by Einaudi Stile Libero), which follows the events of a Neapolitan investigative team. Many of his novels have been translated into English, Spanish and Catalan, German and French. His works have given rise to three television series: “The Bastards of Pizzofalcone” (2017), “Mina Settembre” and “The Inspector Ricciardi” (2021). De Giovanni will talk with Fabio Mundadori And Andrea Giannasi.

Saturday 13 July from 4pm Garfagnana in Giallo Barga Noir at the Teatro dei Differenti with the presentations of the finalist books and the awards ceremony for the 15th edition by Andrea Giannasi, Fabio Mundadori And Chiara De MagistrisThe published book sections will be rewarded and prizes will be awarded for the Criminal Anthology (published by Tralerighe libri editore) and the best story of the “At the last minute” writing contest with incipit by Alice Basso, held in November as part of the Lucca noir.
