Journalist Marcello Sorgi, editorialist for “La Stampa”, will open the fifteenth edition of “Letterando in fest” in Sciacca. The event will take place at the Badia Grande multiplex from 13 to 16 June. Sorgi will present his latest book, entitled “San Berlinguer published by Chiarelettere.

The theme chosen by Paola Caridi, who has the role of artistic director for the sixth year, is “Nema problema” in its various linguistic declinations. The detailed calendar of the event is being completed, which includes numerous literary meetings, with some inevitable film screenings, to seal the historical combination between the Letterando and the Sciacca Film Fest.

Among the most anticipated events is the one scheduled for Friday 14 June with the prosecutor of the Republic of Palermo Maurizio De Lucia who, together with the Repubblica journalist Salvo Palazzolo, will present “The capture: the mysteries of Matteo Messina Denaro and the changing mafia ” (Feltrinelli). De Lucia is the head of the pool of magistrates who, with the decisive intervention of the ROS carabinieri, on 16 January 2023 put an end to the thirty-year absence of the superboss Matteo Messina Denaro. A fundamental experience in the State’s long struggle against the mafia contained in a book co-written by the magistrate and Palazzolo. Also for the 2024 edition, Letterando in fest makes use of the collaboration of Ornella Gulino’s Ubik bookshop in Sciacca. During the four days of the event, the program includes literary meetings with important authors such as Stefania Andreoli, Chiara Bianchi, Francesca Maccani, Evelina Santangelo, Francesco Terracina and many others.
