The 2024 Strega Giovani Award to Donatella Di Pietrantonio

The winner was announced during the event hosted by Loredana Lipperini which took place at the Tor Bella Monaca Theatre. Participants included Nicola Franco, President of the VI Municipality, and Filippo D’Alessio, Director of the Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca, Giovanni Solimine and Stefano Petrocchi, respectively President and Director of the Maria and Goffredo Bellonci Foundation, and Giuseppe D’Avino, President of Witch Alberti Benevento.

Among the novelties of this edition, the presentation of the new project of Bellonci Foundation Stories of the Suburbs. Bringing the suburbs back to the center of historycreated with the support of Enel Heart, the Association Non-profit organization of the Enel Groupwith the special collaboration of Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the Suburbs. Stories of the Suburbs is a project on the transformative power of culture and beauty which in the first year of activity includes an intervention on the outskirts of Caivano (NA) and Tor Bella Monaca (RM) through writing and reading workshops in schools with writers as teachers. The first stage of this journey was the awards ceremony of the Premio Strega Giovani 2024 at the Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca, an event which obtained the patronage of the Chamber of Deputies and which is in ideal continuity with the first editions of the award, held until 2019 at Palazzo Montecitorio. Next year’s awards ceremony, at the end of a year of work, will move to Caivano and it will be an opportunity to evaluate the first results of the project.

The prize Let’s read about it – Fiction for Future 2024

Finally, the Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca was awarded the Leggiamoci Award – Fiction for Future 2024the competition born on the platform Leggiamoci.it where upper secondary school students aged 13 to 19 can share their passion for reading and writing. Leggiamoci.it is a project promoted by the Bellonci Foundation and the Center for books and reading, in collaboration with BPER Banca, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Education System in the World, 42 degrees Festival, sustainable ideas from the Vecchie Segherie bookshop Mastrototaro and SYGLA.

The President of the Center for Books and Reading Adriano Monti Buzzetti he rewarded Ludovico Colletta of the “Rossetti” State Scientific High School of San Benedetto del Tronto with the graphic story Shakespeare In… Social Love. The winner receives a cash prize offered by BPER Bank and a handcrafted wooden pen made by SYGLA. He will also be invited to participate in the Class of Festival 42 degrees.
