The confederal secretary of the CGIL Lara Ghiglione will present the book ‘If fascism goes into fashion. Right-wing extremism and young people’ of which she is the author, Wednesday 5 June in Foggia at the CGIL auditorium at 4.30 pm.

‘If fascism is in fashion. Right-wing extremism and young people (Futura editrice, 2022). A large number of young people in our country militate in movements that refer to Nazi-fascist ideologies. It can now be said that right-wing extremism permeates every area of life and interest of an ever-increasing number of subjects – fashion, music, volunteering, (anti)feminism, sport, art and even culture -, in a crescendo of ‘blind militancy’ from which, once entered, it is difficult to escape. A phenomenon full of contradictions that we tend to underestimate, despite the continuous repetition of serious news events.

The book by Chiara Ghiglione and Vanessa Isoppo analyzes data and elements of this consensus, the dynamics of ‘affiliation’ and also, conversely, the commitment of the many exponents of the new generations – true 4.0 partisans – engaged every day, too often in the indifference of adults, to defend our democracy and at the same time to safeguard the values of the Constitution born from the Resistance.
