On Saturday 11 May, at 6pm, in the exhibition room on the ground floor of the Levanto town hall, in Piazza Cavour, the presentation of Raffaele Caruso’s book will be held “At the next station: justice listening to De André”. Through a series of songs, the author, a criminal lawyer, reflects on “justice”: one of the essential elements in the creative path of the great poet and musician. The analysis of the texts leads to the identification of a coherent thought: starting from the typical human universe of the protagonists he created, De André, also in the wake of criticism of all power, outlines a justice that is born in the hearts of disobedient servants to the laws of the pack and can become the parameter of a new approach also for the practice of courts, prisons, and the paths of a new life for those who recognize their aspiration to be reborn. He will dialogue with the author of the volume, the librarian Rossella Trevisan. The initiative is part of “Il Maggio dei libri”, a national exhibition promoted by the “Cepell” (Centre for books and reading) to which the Levantese library has always supported and which this year is based on the slogan ” If you read you will free yourself”. Levanto has been a “City that reads” since 2018 and has joined the “Pact for Reading”: a commitment that allows the organization of cultural initiatives of various kinds throughout the year, many of which in collaboration with schools in the area .
