The President of the Gutenberg Association, Armando Vitale: broaden institutional network

On the initiative of the Department of Culture, the Gutenberg Book Fair, now in its twenty-first edition, was included among the participants in the “May of books”, the national campaign promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Center for books and reading .

The traditional appointment with the project promoted by the Gutenberg Association and the “Galluppi” Classical High School, as the lead school, and shared by the Municipality of Catanzaro, will be renewed from 20 to 25 May with a busy calendar of meetings that will involve, in Catanzaro and all over the regional territory, over 17 thousand students in meetings and debates with national authors.

“The Department of Culture is, as always, at the side of the event which, more than any other, has managed to create a strong and consolidated bond between the children and the book, understood as a tool for personal and civil growth and capable of give social value to the function of the school”, comments councilor Monteverdi. “Gutenberg also goes best with the May of Books and this is why the administration wanted to share the mission of bringing reading to non-traditional contexts, intercepting a heterogeneous public, and contaminating different containers and places in the city. A strategic initiative that we will continue to support and strengthen, investing in the GDP that culture is able to generate also with a view to a Greater Catanzaro capable of embracing the neighboring territories”.

The President of the Gutenberg Association, Armando Vitale, underlined the opportunity to “increasingly broaden the institutional network to support a project that is not limited to a week of debates, but which lasts the whole year, involving students of all ages in a journey of knowledge and awareness. I also thank the administration for having wanted to re-propose our membership in the May of Books, whose objectives continue to characterize us under the theme of 2024, If you read you’ll free yourself, reminding everyone of the importance of defending our rights ”.
