The book “Tiziano Terzani told me” will be released on 10 May 2024 by Ediciclo Editore. In the places of the roots of a restless explorer”, written by the Florentine journalist Jacopo Storni (Corriere della Sera and Social Editor), with preface by Angela Terzani Staude it’s a unpublished photographic reportage of Terzani’s places of life by Majlend Bramo.

A book journey into the everyday life and most intimate life of the Terzani man, within the places of his origins and through the voices of friends and family: from his wife Angela to his high school classmates, from the homeopath to his pastor friend, from his first girlfriend to his cousin up to his teenage neighbors.

Although his fame is associated with the East, there are corners of Tuscany that are an integral part of the spirit of the great journalist and writer: the medieval village of Malmantile, where the grandparents were stonecutters; Monticelli, the working-class neighborhood of Florence where he was born and raised; Pisa and the Normal University, where books shook him, motivating the desire to defend and tell the story of the oppressed; Vinci, where he married Angela, the beacon of his life; Bellosguardo, the Florentine hill of artists, where his house still stands; the basilica of San Miniato, where he took refuge a few hours after September 11th; Orsigna, eternal love, where he chose to “leave his body”.

The book is a journey along the roads and paths in which Terzani began to question himself about the world, about life, a journey that dismantles the stereotypes of the guru writer and that reveals the essence of a restless but curious man, fragile but determined, looking for somewhere else but proud of one’s origins. A book to get closer to Terzani and which, by exploring places and listening to the voices of friends and family (many of which have never been heard until now), tells the intimate memories, the thoughts and many anecdotes of the life of a Florentine boy who felt inside the urgency to live.

The volume will be presented as a national preview at the Vicino/Lontano festival in Udine on Saturday 11th May 2024 together with the writer Andrea Bocconi, author of the volume Travel don’t leave, and with the moderation of Àlen Loreti, biographer and editorial editor of Tertian’s work.

In Florence it will instead be presented on Thursday 23 May 2024 at 7pmThe Florida Shipyard Theatre, in the Monticelli district through the intimate testimonies of those who knew Terzani personally. Participants include Jacopo Storni, author of the book, Angela Terzani Staude, Fabio Terzani, cousin of the writer, and Massimo Mangialavori, his osteopath doctor.
