The happy Union: the Europe of lib(e)rs – this is the title of the meeting – wants to express a closeness to the starting blocks also reflected in the guiding themes of the respective events: the freedom invoked by Se leggi ti lib(e) ri!, the name of this edition of Il Maggio dei Libri and that crossroads of ideas and debates, creative and poetic energies that constitutes Strasbourg, the European city par excellence, a synthesis of humanism and contamination, of tradition and the future, of anchoring in memory and of openness to the younger generations. Different words and suggestions to convey the same message: without reading, capable of opening minds and horizons, freeing from ignorance and prejudice, and without a spirit of common belonging to a single community of peoples, it is not possible to build a shared future , fair and equitable for all.
