The book «Microcosmi» on newsstands with the GdB

The progress it almost never happens in a single moment or by a single person: it is instead the result of many small changes that shake society to make it grow: it is these small progresses that the sociologist Aldo Bonomi talks about in his book «Microcosms» (Il Sole 24 Ore; pp. 240). From Saturday 20 April the volume is on newsstands with the Giornale di Brescia for 12.90 euros (plus the daily newspaper).

The book

A collection of short essays on social, anthropological and economic dynamics of territorial development. From international scenarios to local production districts.

The editorials and comments written over the years by Aldo Bonomi for «Il Sole 24 Ore», in the Microcosmi column, are organized into thematic itineraries that highlight the contribution of one of our country’s most eminent sociologists to reflection on the productive world and relations with territories and society surrounding. A research work carried out in an attempt to «keep searching to keep understanding»through clear writing that reveals clear thinking and a high and clear vision of social dynamics.

This is a further one step forward in socio-economic research in the area as a knowledge base to continue to understand territorial realities. We can take stock of our way of working and advance the hypothesis that in the Italian transformation of these decades we have seen a complex process of “becoming” at work rather than a more ordered and almost planned process of development.

Who is Aldo Bonomi

Founder and coordinator of Aaster Consortium, has published numerous texts on the socio-economic and cultural change of Italian territories over the last thirty years. For twenty years he has edited the Microcosmi column for «Il Sole 24 Ore».
