Racalmuto – On Saturday 20 April 2024, at 5.30 pm, at the headquarters of the Leonardo Sciascia Foundation in Racalmuto, Enzo Sardo’s latest book entitled “Lublino Leopoli Racalmuto” will be presented, subtitle, “between history and microhistory wars friendship unions” published by Armando Siciliano Editore. The book tells the cultural events of Racalmuto and its relations with other European cities over a decade. It highlights the importance of the concept of human solidarity and the value of peace which takes on extraordinary significance in this period.

“My words will seem obvious and obvious to you – says the author – But know that in the third Millennium there are still political leaders who, instead of thinking about how to fix the climate, how to fight the arsonists who burn thousands of hectares of forest and how to encourage scientific research to fight the diseases of this century (which I don’t even want to mention) thinks of violence as an end in itself and of aggression for some piece of land. Neglecting the fact that they too must leave this world sooner or later; so it would be desirable for them to think about leaving a better world than they knew it. Politicians have only one task: to work for human promotion and for the protection of Creation.”

The event will be coordinated by Gero Difrancesco (co-director of the Rivista Studi Storici Siciliani). Greetings will be brought by: Vincenzo Maniglia (Mayor of the city) and Danylo Tkanko (Professor at the Marie Curie-Sklodowska University (Lublin – Poland). Speakers will be Alfonso Luzzi (National President of the Christian Workers Movement); Giovanni Tesè (Lawyer and writer); the Publisher and the Author. Readings will be edited by Adele Troisi (Teacher of foreign languages).

The event will be broadcast live on the Sciascia Foundation’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
