from Spazio Sette the presentation of the new book by Michele Orti Manara

Thursday 18 April, at 6.30pm: Spazio Sette, the city’s cultural reference point, will host the Roman presentation of Things to do to hurt yourself (Giulio Perrone Editore) by Michele Orti Manara.

“What do people do when we’re not looking?”the author asks himself on the first page – and until the last page he continues to delve into the most uncomfortable and turbulent recesses of life.
What does love hide behind when it becomes obsession? Is it always necessary to mourn a death? How much does lack of communication cost?

Twelve stories, twelve lives which investigate with power and precision – but also with irony – the most hidden and complex part of each of us: obsessions, anxieties and disturbances ripple and then tear the surface of apparent calm.
Whether they inhabit real or fantastic worlds, the characters of Orti Manara find themselves entangled in a vice that seems necessaryà: they repeat – more or less consciously – the emotional dynamics that will lead them every time to the most indispensable way to continue harming themselves.

We will talk about this and more with the author, in the company of Annalisa De Simone and Paolo Di Paolo.
