The painting exhibition in Ploaghe.

Yes is concludedSunday 23 June, the second edition of the painting exhibition “The thousand colours of art” curated by Maria Franca Vargiu. Set up at the Ploaghe community centre, it welcomed a large audience of enthusiasts and experts, such as the famous painter Aline Spada who complimented the authors for the works exhibited divided into three sections: junior, senior and ultrasenior. A small great success especially for the mission of which the event she became a spokesperson. In fact, some paintings were created by guests of the house Saint Vincent by Ploaghe, still others by beginners and most by art lovers who have followed the painting workshop for one or two years, followed with professionalism and passion by the artist Maria Franca Vargiu.

The organization thanks the visitors for the generosity of offerings which will be destined for the children of Guatemala where one of our fellow villagers, Alessandro Carta with his partner Agnese Sabatino he has been carrying out voluntary work for two years in an indigenous village in Guatemala, Cerro la Granadiglia, where children are victims of child labor, putting their lives at risk as they work with gunpowder, the only source of income in those places. Their association, “Sulla strada” gave the opportunity to Alessandro e Agnes to be able to work on various projects for the benefit of children and their families, to safeguard their health and promote independence from a work perspective. The hope is that everything the commitment made by the two volunteers gives comfortable results for the realization of their projects. The organizers thank the Mayor and the entire Municipal Administration for granting the spaces for the painting workshops at the Municipal Library and for the preparation of the exhibition at the social centre. Special thanks also to Angela Fiori for her collaboration and assistance in the Exhibition management.

“Supporting these praiseworthy initiatives makes us proud – underlines the councilor Lorena Tedde -. The Ploaghese community has always had a special regard for those most in need and has mobilised on various occasions to charitable initiatives like these. We hope that they can be increasingly numerous”.
