Partinico, the painter Gaetano Porcasi goes “Beyond the mafias”

Gaetano Porcasi’s exhibition opens its doors today at the Savarino high school in the Turrisi district of Partinico, which once again talks about the mafia, malfeasance and more. It is no coincidence that the name of his solo show is “Beyond the mafias”, which aims to indicate the need to look attentively at the past with its tragedies and the blood shed by many heroes.

The paintings on display inside the high school have just returned from Rome, where they were exhibited at the national museum of the Carabinieri. There are 16 works that tell the story of the anti-mafia, paintings that have toured all over Italy. It will be possible to visit the exhibition throughout the day today, then the paintings will go on tour again around Italy for other exhibitions.

Gaetano Porcasi has been interested in the topic of legality for decades and wanted to send a message to the new generations. Master Porcasi’s pictorial activity, through his colours, sometimes markedly bright, has met with great success in hundreds of personal exhibitions, in public and private buildings, conferences, seminars, even ideas for degree theses.
