Corrado Tiradini’s tenth anniversary and his first exhibition on Matilde of Canossa in Germany in 2010

Ten years after his death he is remembered Corrado Tiradiniwho passed away on Sunday 20 April 2014.

Tiradini was a painter dear to the Apennines, in particular for his works linked to Matildic themes: one of his canvases on Matilde of Canossa was paid homage to John Paul II (a work which is now on permanent display at the Mission of the Holy See at the FAO , in Rome).

The well-known painter was very attached to the Reggio Emilia mountains and to Casina in a very particular way, where Ubaldo Montruccolithen teacher of the Comprehensive Institute “Giorgio Gregori”had curated a solo exhibition for him at the Institute itself focused on the figure of Matilda of Canossa. Subsequently, the exhibition was exported to Hesse (Germany) where the tenth anniversary of the historic Städtepartnerschaft was celebrated in Fritzlar together with Casina/Twinning signed in 2001.

In the large rooms of one of the oldest houses of the imperial city Montruccoli, contact person for the Casina-Fritzlar twinning, had personally set up and curated the Matildic exhibition with its catalog entitled Farben unserer Geschichte (Colors of our history).

An exhibition of over thirty acrylic paintings, all with Matildic subjects, by the well-known painter from Reggio Emilia.

Among his passions, in addition to teaching art in schools (for him who had studied at Chierici and was enrolled in the School of Art), also that of writing.

He was keen to publish two of his short stories on Redacon in 2008.

His works, however, have also been exhibited around the world: in addition to Fritzlar, at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, at the Artexpo in New York, in Philadelphia, at the “Tias” International Fair in Tokyo and at the International Contemporary Art Exhibition Atlanta Art Caravan Buyers. In 2007 he held a solo exhibition in the State Archives of Reggio and in 2010 he also exhibited at the Eighth Rome Biennial.

A few years before his death, the well-known painter from Reggio Emilia, personally taking care of the drafting of the texts, with the narrative voice of Ercole Leurinihad also entrusted his film biography entitled, to the direction of Ubaldo Montruccoli Corrado Tiradini – The colors of interiority.
