Sweden, policewomen “sexually corrupted” by immigrant gangs – Libero Quotidiano

About thirty Swedish police officers, mostly women, have ended up under investigation and expelled from the force after it was discovered that they had been sexually corrupted by immigrant gangs. The lovelorn officers provided their criminal lovers with highly sensitive information about ongoing investigations and rivals, information that also led to the murders of at least four people.

The revelation was made by Dagens Nyheter, the main Swedish newspaper, in a dossier – built with conversations from more than fifty law enforcement and criminal sources, supported by hundreds of public documents – which uncovered the scandal: in many cases, gang members have used completely unconventional methods to obtain information, such as initiating sexual relationships with strategically selected police officers.

An example is “Elin”, not her real name, who met her gangster boyfriend through a dating app when she was still a cadet. She has consistently chosen to provide him with confidential information obtained through illegal searches over the past four years up until her arrest.

There are many cases similar to Elin’s, says Dagens Nyheter, some involving agents even more experienced than her. A police officer leaked information to “one of Sweden’s most notorious criminals”, apparently due to his notoriety, while a police investigator fell in love with the very man she was tasked with investigating and gave him updates regular about his “progress”. In short, an evolution of Stockholm syndrome.

Following the newspaper’s revelations, at least 30 female police officers were fired or forced to resign because they were labeled “security risks”. Since 2018, these agents have been the source of at least 514 leaks. The head of the Swedish National Police, Petra Lundh, called the officers’ behavior “totally unacceptable”, saying that the police and judiciary were “naive” in not foreseeing and combating these types of elaborate infiltration methods. In a few days the scandal became so big that even the head of the Swedish government was forced to comment on the news. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said on Monday that the report contained “very worrying information,” although without a formal investigation he could not say whether or not the phenomenon posed a threat to national security. “Mere suspicion” alone is very harmful to public safety and trust in the police force, he stressed.

Sweden has long struggled against gangs, especially Middle Eastern immigrants. Crime rates, including rape and murder, have soared in the country in recent years, leading to growing public demand to limit immigration as well as the right to asylum.
