«Iranian missiles on the Colosseum»: the Israeli minister’s post irritates Tajani

In the video, with the Eiffel Tower in the background, in the foreground there is a quiet scene of a gentleman about to have a croissant and a cappuccino, interrupted by a gunshot. The head of Israeli diplomacy then asked his EU counterparts “to impose sanctions on the Iranian missile project”. Announcing it on X, Katz added that «the project endangers the world. We must stop Iran before it is too late.” Iranian missiles, he recalled, “have a range of up to 3 thousand kilometers”. The impression, according to some observers, is that Israel did not appreciate the request for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, which arrived in recent days from Rome.

He doesn’t say he’s worried but iTajani invites us to “avoid panic”. which reiterates its commitment to de-escalation, not ruling out a conversation with the Iranian minister “in the next few days”. “I don’t think there is a possibility of an attack on the West” by Iran “which also makes serious mistakes but we must avoid creating panic”, added Tajani, adding that “rather than worry we need to worry”. Tajani then recalled the recent G7 meeting, where they worked for “de-escalation, trying to use all possible diplomatic tools to prevent the situation from worsening”, reiterating the commitment to “continue working to achieve the ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages and humanitarian aid for the civilian population.” The final objective, he insisted, “is not to erase Israel, a friend of Italy”, but to have “two peoples and two states that they recognize each other.”
