“Headless bodies and organs found”

The Civil Protection in the Gaza Strip said that a mass grave was found near the Nasser hospital, in the southern city of Khan Younis. Inside are the bodies of at least 50 Palestinian victims of the Israeli army. The discovery of the lifeless bodies dates back to yesterday. According to what was disclosed, the mass graves were dug by the Israeli military forces and inside them 50 martyrs were found. More than one mass grave would have been opened near the hospital. “We started excavations on Saturday – declared Mahmoud Bassal – and we were shocked to discover 50 people dead in one of the pits”.

The excavations are continuing to progress and according to Palestinian Civil Protection personnel, there are still more bodies. “We are waiting for the end to clearly establish the number of corpses found – Bassal further explained -. Some bodies were stripped of their clothes and this indicates that they were arrested, tortured and subjected to ill-treatment by the Israeli occupation army”. According to what Hamas also underlined, the 50 martyrs were “executed in cold blood and buried by military bulldozers” in Nasser’s medical complex.

Especially after October 7, the hospitals in the Gaza Strip are constantly put to the test by the military operations conducted by the IDF. According to rescuers, there are at least 400 bodies in the mass graves near the hospital, although so far only 50 victims have been recovered. The excavations are continuing and according to estimates, in the next few hours around 200 bodies of killed Palestinian civilians will be recovered and taken away.

According to Hamas, some bodies found in the mass graves had been decapitated and had no organs and shreds of skin. Among the bodies also those of children and elderly people. A similar discovery had already been made near Al-Shifa hospital.
