Among the most popular journalists of our small screen, on 4 September 2023 Myrta Merlino has officially taken the place of Barbara D’Urso as presenter of Afternoon 5. An unexpected change of guard, which certainly did not go unnoticed and which could have started a waltz of management also in view of next season.
According to the latest rumour, in fact, the possibility cannot be ruled out that Myrta Merlino’s experience at the helm of the program may have already come to an end. In this regard, some statements by another well-known face from Mediaset aroused particular interest.
It’s about Giuseppe Brindisi who over the last year has often replaced Merlino. The presenter of Zona Bianca and Diario del giorno, in an interview given to the weekly magazine Mio, revealed that his dream would be to present Sanremo one day.
But not only that, he also made it known that he would not refuse to lead Afternoon 5 on a permanent basis. Going into detail he stated: “I enjoyed hosting it because it is a story of news and current affairs that is aimed at a different audience. Would I host the next edition? Who wouldn’t like to host one of the network’s most important historic shows?“. Then add: “But I’m fine with running my own programs.”
Words, those of Giuseppe Brindisi, which have led many not to rule out a change of helm. However, it should be underlined that these are only suppositions. The well-known host, in fact, only made it known that sooner or later he would like to host Pomeriggio 5. However, it is not certain that this will happen already during the 2024/2025 season.
