The anime will officially debut this October

The animated adaptation of Tsuma, Shōgakusei ni Narumanga series by Yayu Muratawas presented in a trailer that reveals the main cast, the staff and the debut of the series, expected to October.

Keisuke Niijima is a man who has not gotten over the death of his wife Takae even though ten years have passed. As a single parent he does his utmost to make his daughter Mai happy but their relationship seems stuck at that fateful moment. One day a girl from elementary school shows up in front of the house claiming to be Takae. Now Keisuke will try to make up for lost time while Takae, who has to live school life with the mind of a forty-year-old, wants to create situations to be able to meet her husband again.

The cast is made up of:

  • Daisuke Hirakawa in the role of Keisuke Niijima, devoted husband to his wife Takae who died ten years earlier
  • Aoi Yuki as Takae Niijima / Marika Shiraishi, Keisuke’s late wife who was reincarnated as an elementary school student
  • Maiko Nomura as Mai Niijima, Keisuke and Takae’s only daughter

Noriyuki Abe (Ooku – The forbidden rooms) directs the anime at the Studio Signpost, Sawako Hirabayashi (Delicious Party Precure) takes care of the screenplay and series composition, Narihito Sekikawa (Halo Legends) takes care of the character design, while Keiichirō Miyoshi (BURN THE WITCH #0.8) is the sound director, with Hiroko Yamasaki (Oblivion Battery) who composes the music.

Murata published a one-shot version of the manga in the magazine Weekly Manga Times in April 2018, before beginning serialization of the series in July of the same year. The manga, which also inspired a live-action adaptation, ended in December 2022, with the fourteenth and final volume released by CHobunsha in March 2023.
