The Boys on Prime Video the fourth season: plot, cast, episode schedule

Thursday 13 June debuts on Prime Video the fourth season of The Boys with the first 3 episodes available immediately and the other 5 released weekly until July 18th.

The series is the adaptation of the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertsondeveloped for Sony e Prime Video from Eric Kripke which he had previously worked at Supernatural. At the center is a satirical rereading of the world of superheroes who live among humans and are lost among excesses, extreme and sometimes fake rescues, useful only for the public image and the sale of gadgets. To try to stop them, a group of “normal” people including former CIA agents and criminals gather. The goal is to bring down the Seven and stop Patriot but as the seasons have passed the challenge has become more and more personal and the desire for revenge prevails over the sense of justice.

The Boys is characterized by an irreverent, over the top, incorrect style, in this fourth season the TV series becomes darker. Connecting to what we saw in its spinoff Gen V released last year by Prime Videobecomes increasingly political and linked to current events between elections and media manipulations.

Filming on the series concluded over a year ago but the release was slowed down by the writers’ and actors’ strike. The creator Eric Kripke announced that the next one fifth season will conclude the events of the series and will be the last season of The Boys.
