Usigrai against Rai for the farewell of I soliti ignoti, on the Nine together with Amadeus: harsh attack on the managers

The passage of Amadeus from the Rai to the Nine continues to be discussed. On Monday 3 June Usigrai released a note regarding “Soliti ignoti”, a format for which the Viale Mazzini company has not renewed the rights and which will move together with the outgoing host of Sanremo on the channel published by Warner Bros. Discovery Italia.

Usigrai attacks on “Soliti ignoti” which moves to Nove with Amadeus

The statement from trade union of Rai journalists openly criticizes the choice to leave to the competition a successful program that has made the company’s fortunes in recent years.

In particular the emphasis is placed on economic implications resulting from the loss of one of the flagship formats:

If Amadeus leaves Rai and also takes away the successful formats, the problem for the company is not insignificant. At stake are advertising contracts and audiences who could together change the channel.

The attack by public television journalists comes after Laura Carafolihead of content for the Warner Bros. Discovery group for Southern Europe, announced in an interview with Republic that Amadeus will host the program on Nove which will be broadcast with the original title “Identity”.

The presenter signed a contract lasting four years.

Cuts and few investments: the union’s note

In the document Usigrai also complains about the worsening of working conditions of journalists.

In particular they mention “cuts to salaries”, “zeroing of investments in news” and “reduction of staff”.

Furthermore, the union declares in no uncertain terms that it does not believe the reassurances recently arrived from company top management regarding the maintenance of the current employment level.

The request for a radical change of direction

Usigrai concludes the note by asking for a route change radical for “information that is real at the service of citizens and not a megaphone of particular interests”.

In short, according to the union, losing Amadeus, “Soliti ignoti” and everything that follows from it would be nothing more than yet another choice to be censored by the Rai management.
