The group’s content manager revealed this in an interview, Laura Carafoli. The quiz will also change its name, taking the original name of its American version, originally created by the NBC network: Identity. An operation similar to the one carried out with Fabio Fazio’s show Che Tempo Che Fa.

The transfer of the Soliti Ignoti and Amadeus to the Nove

The quiz I Soliti Ignoti will move from Rai to Canale Nove, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The American company continues its investments in Italian television, and after having secured one of the most important presenters of the moment, Amadeus, returning from five years at the direction of the Sanremo Festival with exceptional results, he also brings his most successful daily show to his own networks.

Warner Bros. Discovery was able to purchase the rights to Soliti Ignoti because the program is not originally Italian. It was in fact created by the US network NBC, under the name Identity. With the passage to Nine the quiz will resume its original name. The operation is therefore similar to the one done with Fabio Fazio, who after leaving Rai signed a contract with Canale Nove bringing his most successful broadcast there: What’s the weather like.

The news was revealed by Laura Carafoli, responsible for the group’s Italian content and Warner Bros. Discovery projects in Italy, in a long interview with the newspaper Repubblica, during which he also revealed other future projects of the group, including the launch of the Max platform.

During the interview with RepublicLaura Carafoli spoke about the excellent results of Fabio Fazio’s program in his debut on the Nove: “What a time ago brought extraordinary, incredible results. Fazio he brought his audience to the Nine. Long contracts not only serve to consolidate the relationship, but give the opportunity to develop projects” he declared.

Responding to a question, the content manager of Warner Bros. Discovery he also referred to the many voices of big names on Italian television who in recent months have approached the Nine: “Now is the time to unite the two souls, experimental and innovative, at a certain point the rumor circulated that many wanted to come to us. There is a desire to sit at our table, to put generalist television back in a position that it has somewhat lost. I think we’re headed in the right direction,” he said.

In fact, in recent weeks a rumor had circulated, relaunched by Fiorello live on television, that Il Nove was interested in the journalistic sector of La 7, led by the news director of Urbano Cairo’s network, Enrico Mentana. Carafoli also mentioned the possible arrival of Warner Bros’ streaming platform, Max, which in the US operates under the HBO brand and which was launched in Spain last year: it could arrive in 2026.
