Who knows what the late Sergio Saviane would think of the “mystique of lament” which is celebrated daily in certain television programs and in the Left newspapers regarding the alleged censorship of “Telemeloni”. Let’s take for example the Chesarà program, hosted by Serena Bortone over the weekend with certainly not exciting ratings, to put it mildly. Having risen to “Dolores Ibárruri 2.0” after the clumsy Scurati affair which was also downplayed by Fatto Quotidiano, the passionate Serena invited the writers Gianrico Carofiglio and Maurizio de Giovanni on the show last Sunday to criticize Meloni’s intervention at the Vox convention and the gaffes of minister Lollobrigida. A foreigner reading the reports from Italy would think that – after such contempt of the regime – Carofiglio and de Giovanni were therefore ready to pack their bags for confinement. And instead that same evening on Rai3 the charming former magistrate started with the third edition of his program Dilemmi, while de Giovanni is back from the program La biblioteca dei sentimentali, also broadcast on Rai3 in the afternoon. Project launched and wanted by the reviled Melonian Rai structure.

The previous day, on La7 by Massimo Gramellini, the august Corrado Augias was instead complaining about Giorgia’s regime, who however – far from being banned from public television – presents the program La storia della music. Another celebrated champion of the anti-Melonian resistance, Geppi Cucciari, has just finished another season of Splendida Cornice on Rai3 and continues to host Un giorno da pecora on Rai Radio Uno.

Like Gina Lollobrigida, Roberto Saviano also returns to Rai3 in September. And even in prime time, with its program Insider – Inside the truth. The self-styled “censored” Saviano was even bullied by Selvaggia Lucarelli, not exactly a fan of the current government, who reproached him for his omnipresence on video, reminding him that not all writers or journalists can, as he himself declared, afford to pick up the phone and talk to the general director of Rai (the Melonian Giampaolo Rossi). “And I don’t know how many would do it,” Selvaggia revealed, “if that director general was a loyalist to their bitterest political enemy.” But let us understand, wasn’t the “screw and screw” victimism of the Right?
