Milan, 16 May. (Adnkronos) – On the eve of the international day against homophobia, transphobia and biphobia, Amazon inaugurated the photographic exhibition ‘Diverse Reflections: the 100+ Mirrors of Inclusivity’ at its corporate offices in Milan. There are over one hundred Amazon Italia employees who, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, allies and allies, have decided to get involved. The objective is to reiterate full adherence to the values of inclusion and valorization of diversity through the direct testimonies of the company’s people, who have lent their faces and their stories to a story through images. Using the expressive power of black and white, Francesco Bagnato, amateur photographer and marketing professional for Prime Video, captured the gazes of colleagues and colleagues through his camera to accompany the public on a photographic journey dedicated to the beauty and complexity of human diversity.

“Through these portraits we want not only to enhance the uniqueness of our employees, but also to convey an important message: at Amazon diversity is wealth and beauty – comments Mariangela Marseglia, country manager of Amazon Italy and Spain -. The faces and precious stories that many have chosen to share are intended to be a tangible sign of our commitment, accompanied by the policies and concrete actions that we implement every day in the company. The decision to inaugurate this exhibition today is no coincidence. With this project, we want to support the demands of the LGBTQIA+ community in our country and celebrate the international day against homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia and transphobia on May 17, against all forms of prejudice, discrimination and violence”.

Uniting in diversity, inspiring an authentic culture of welcoming others, eliminating stereotypes and preconceptions. These are the pillars underlying ‘Diverse Reflections: the 100+ Mirrors of Inclusivity’, perfectly coherent and in total continuity with the daily commitment of Glamazon, the Affinity Group open to all Amazon employees and conceived as a space of discussion, creation of knowledge and development of new initiatives to support policies of inclusion and non-discrimination of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex people within the company.

“When Francesco explained his idea to us we didn’t hesitate for a second – explains Keivan Fahim, member of the Glamazon committee and Program Manager of Amazon Made in Italy -. Involving, sharing one’s passions, working towards a common goal aimed at increasing awareness and sensitivity on such important and too often underestimated issues, making everyone feel part of a group capable of welcoming and listening: the photographic project encompasses all this, representing the best way we act as Glamazon. A special thank you therefore to Francesco and to those who participated.”

Through initiatives like this, Amazon once again expresses its goal of being not only the most customer-oriented company in the world, but also the best place to work for its employees and committing itself daily to ensure that those who work there can always feel free and free to express yourself, with your talents. Only last October did Amazon announce the introduction of a transgender toolkit in Italy, a set of guidelines to support all employees who are undertaking a gender transition journey.

The objective is to offer concrete tools to support and facilitate this process: from paid leave from the company for the days of absence from work linked to the transition process, to the indications to be provided to colleagues, colleagues and managers, to the change of name, to benefits offered, everything contributes to nurturing an inclusive work environment. ‘Diverse Reflections: the 100+ Mirrors of Inclusivity’ will be on display until the end of June within the corporate offices in Milan, available to all employees and their guests.
