The Best Years: the fourth episode broadcast tonight on Rai 1

The show is a 60-year journey back in time, to rediscover the music, television programmes, objects, fashions and news events that most affected our past. All in the name of memories and emotions, to make the public relive the magical atmospheres of the past, which deserve to be experienced even by the younger generations.

The guest singers in the program will give life to an evocative journey back through the history of music, performing the most famous songs of past decades. Also on stage are huge names on the international scene, such as the American singer-songwriter Christopher Crossmultiple Grammy Award winner, the Scotsman Midge Uresinger first of Visage and then of Ultravox, the Englishman Eric Burdonleader of the Animals and since 1994 in the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ e Lee Johnvoice and front-man of Imagination, a dance group responsible for hits such as ‘Just an illusion’, ‘Body Talk’ and ‘Music and lights’.
The Italian scene is represented by music icons such as the singer-songwriter Michele Zarrillo, Marcella Bella, Gigliola Cinquetti and Rosanna Fratello with their timeless successes, the Absolute zerothe beat group Julian hey Nocturnal.
If music is fundamental, the ‘words’ are no less so: this time it’s up to the actor and director Vincenzo Salemme tell his personal hit parade of characters, songs and objects that have marked his human and artistic journey.

Words are also the protagonists of the funny moments entrusted to Maurizio Battista: the comedian with a very personal look will make you smile by talking about old habits imprinted in your memory, but now outdated. The objects of ‘The Best Years’ are also the protagonists of a fun parenthesis in the company of Giorgio Mastrota who, with his great power of persuasion, will describe them in an unusual and ironic way, taking the public back to the golden days of teleshopping.

A ‘chorus’ of 30 male and female dancers, wearing period clothing, will animate the hits of the various decades with their choreographies. A space also dedicated to the ‘Future Box’, the ‘time capsule’ in which are inserted the characters, objects and records (33 or 45 rpm) that have marked 60 years of our history and must absolutely not be missing from future generations.

The fourth episode of The best years, awaits us this evening, starting from 9.25pm on Rai 1
