Air transport is back on strike today with a 24-hour stop. Workers from numerous airlines and from the aviation, airport and related airports sectors, from airport handling services and ENAV air traffic controllers took part in the event. However, the methods of strike vary from airport to airport and from one company to another. We continue to fly in the protection bands that go from 7.00 to 10.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00. From the companies that remain still, to the timetables up to how to request a refund: everything you need to know.

The reasons for the strike and upcoming demonstrations

The unions are crossing hands due to the non-renewal of the national collective agreement in the airport handling sector and the situation of the workers of the various airlines. The request is the guarantee of an improvement in the working conditions of both traveling and ground personnel as well as ENAV controllers. In the coming months, other air strikes are already planned for Monday 19 June and Tuesday 20 June and another one for Saturday 15 July.

How to request a refund

Airlines should provide assistance to customers whose flight has been canceled by proposing an alternative flight, as required by the Community Regulation. Those who suffer inconvenience can request a refund, as long as they keep the ticket. To make a claim for compensation, you must complete the European form, a sort of format that all companies must make available to the public on their platforms. Another option is to hire professionals who specialize in helping passengers experiencing flight delays or suspensions.
