Et voilà, yesterday morning, live on ‘Long live Rai2‘, the unprecedented couple launched ‘Una Vespa in 2’ into orbit, the duet already destined to become the summer hit of the coming summer. Already viral on all social media, Orietta Berti’s new challenge crowns a long triumphant season of successes. With a bang. And with an entirely cartoon video clip that will delight adults and children alike.
How did this project come about?
“Some time ago I went to present my ’55 years ++’ box set and for fun I gave him a mobile phone cover, with me dressed as a fairy at Sanremo 2022. Fiorello fell in love with it. We continued to stay in touch via our friend Pasquale Mammaro. Then in September last year the idea of a jingle for the program was born. Then we saw each other at the Dopofestival this year in Sanremo and from there, the song ‘Vespa in 2′”.
There is a long acquaintance between her and Rosario. Did you enjoy working with him?
“We’ve known each other practically forever. Each of us should have a little more of Fiorello inside us because it’s good for us. Good humor, irony, talent. He is all of this. With him and with all his staff, we had as much fun as crazy”.
What did they tell you at home?
“They were all satisfied. Even my granddaughters Olivia and Ottavia (the daughters of Otis, the eldest son of the singer from Cavriago, ed.). Olivia, the eldest, told me that when she grows up she also wants to sing with her grandmother and Fiorello, on that Vespa.”
Fiorello defined her as the greatest Italian and international pop singer.
“Oh well, I can only thank him. I like being a popular singer, with an audience that has never stopped following me and loving me.”
In recent years he has established incredibly successful collaborations with characters such as Fedez and Achille Lauro (“Mille”), “Luna Pie” (Manuelito/Hell Raton), Rovazzi (“La discoteca italiana”). How do you find yourself communicating with the new generations?
“I had a great time. Young people have always loved me and working with them is a great joy.”
How do you always stay young like her?
“Maybe it’s also a question of the head. It’s important to love what you do and always keep active. Always on the move, with new goals to achieve.”
But is there a recipe for having its energy?
“Loving what you do so much and not looking back too much. The past is part of us, certainly, but we must always look forward.”
Projects?
“Still a lot of television, the promotion of the song together with Fiorello and then the summer tour: I can’t wait to meet my audience”.
