What was supposed to be one of the best experiences of her life turned into a tragedy for her family. A 23-year-old young man died on June 2 in a car accident in Perth, Australia, where he had gone with some friends to work on a farm.
At 23, Jacopo Martini, originally from Sarnonico, in the province of Treno, loses his life far from home, from his Val di Non and from his family. His brother Giuseppe and his friend Luca Calliari, a 24-year-old from Romeno who was injured in the accident, also left with him.
Accident in Australia, an Italian died: the dynamics
According to local newspapers, it appears that Jacopo and Luca were traveling south in a red Mitsubishi along Indian Ocean Drive, the road linking Lancelin and the city of Perth in Western Australia. Another car, a Toyota Hilux, came the other way. The two cars are collide violently at an intersection.
Luca, at the wheel of the car, was seriously injured in the accident and taken to the hospital. Jacob, on the other hand, is died instantly. The passengers of the Toyota, on the other hand, sustained only minor injuries. It was Giorgio who recognized the body of his brother Jacopo in the hospital, as reported by L’Adige.
