Conte asks for around 9 million in salary: Napoli is taking time, no negotiations with Chelsea

Longo writes it on calciomercato.com. Napoli reflects, Milan seems to have slipped away. The Arabia hypothesis is more no than yes.

Antonio Conte is on the list of some Serie A clubs (and not only) to return to the bench next season, after his unfortunate adventure at Tottenham last year. The latest updates on his situation reported by journalist Daniele Longo.

Conte wants to return to Italy, but asks for around 9 million per season

On calciomercato.com writes:

At present, despite the availability shown and the great push of the fans, Milan and Napoli have different ideas for the future coach. Informal contacts with the Rossoneri club stopped this winter, De Laurentiis instead is taking time and exploring other candidates. Never like at this stage of his career has Conte had the desire to return to winning on an Italian bench. It is unlikely that he will be able to accept the proposals that have arrived from Arabia.

In recent days there has been talk of Chelsea’s inclusion, for what would be a return for Conte on the blues bench:

According to some reconstructions, an intermediary proposed him to Chelsea. This type of indiscretion is not confirmed: the Salento coach has a CV and a history at Chelsea that does not need to be proposed. The current philosophy of the Blues is quite distant from that of Conte, who always asks for 3/4 top signings with experienced players. On the subject of economic demand which he has discussed so much in recent days, it appears to be around 9 million per season.

The arrival of the Salento coach at Napoli cannot be ruled out (Dazn)

Orazio Accomando, Dazn journalist, on X:

«Conte-Napoli, it’s still a question. Dialogue continues and Conte remains Napoli’s first choice. His arrival cannot absolutely be ruled out. The profiles of Pioli, Gasperini and Italiano also remain in the running, in case of failure to reach an agreement with Conte».
