There are twenty-three artists participating in the 26th edition of ‘Torano notte e giorno’, the event of the Pro Torano committee scheduled from July 25th to August 3rd in the artists’ village. Their task is to transform the theme of this edition into art: the 2005 re-adaptation of Tim Burton’s film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. The list of these 23 artists was made official by Emma Castè, artistic director of the historic event. They are Achille Pardini, Alexandra Borodinova, Andrea Vannoni, Carmen Bertacchi, Dale, Giorgio Meccheri, Leonel Guarda, Luciana Bertaccini, Maria Gasparotti, Massimiliano De Vitis, Massimiliano Merler, Maurizio Martinelli, Michele Monfroni, Oxana La, Orazio Luciano Vittorio Ricci, Roger Martin Wilson, Rosanna Rotondi, Sandra Rigali, Stefano Graziano, Stefano Siani, Viola Maria Rossi, Veronica Caleo, Vittoria Angela Romei.

“Many new and emerging artists, many of foreign nationality who live in our country, appear for the first time in Torano notte e giorno which confirms itself as a summer stage of reference for contemporary art – comments Castè -. This year too we have had many requests to participate in the competition named after Franco Borghetti and it was not easy to select the works, and therefore consequently exclude others. The imprint that we wanted to give to this edition is that of an exhibition accessible to enthusiasts, as well as pleasant for tourists and families who can truly walk here and immerse themselves in the spirit of the village. The preferred material of the works is naturally marble”.

The art trail in the village, which since 2011 has been fighting against femicide and against all forms of discrimination using the language of art and communication, is enriched this year by the audiovisual exhibition ‘Donne internete a Maggiano’ promoted by the association ‘Scritture Femminili’ based on an idea by Alessandra Celi and Luciana Vietina. The linchpin of the event will be the artistic residence named after the late Bernardo Rossi, which this year will be all-female with the unprecedented collaboration between the sculptor Marianna Blier and the photographer and multimedia artist Paola Cassola. Also on the program are events, presentations, culture and typical gastronomy every evening in the town square with sgabei and much more.
