Work in Campo di Mare, Pascucci takes the credit: “I financed the work”

Cerveteri, July 1, 2024 – “Today, Monday 1st July in Campo di Mare the second batch of works for the redevelopment of the Etruscan Navigators seafront will begin. The continuation of ten years of work, which in my two mandates as Mayor of Cerveteri and as Metropolitan Councilor I have followed since its origins. What until twelve years ago seemed like an unachievable dream, today is about to have a new piece, confirming that the project to relaunch the seaside area of our city was achievable and that the entire urban planning process started during our administration was correct. All that remains for me is to invite all citizens to the official opening of the works which will take place today, at 5pm in Piazza Prima Rosa”. This was declared by Alessio Pascucci, Councilor of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital and Mayor of Cerveteri from 2012 to 2022.

“The construction site that will come to life is the result of funding of two million euros received from the Metropolitan City of Rome on a project presented in 2021 by our administration – adds Alessio Pascucci – we will intervene first of all on what for over half a century has been the symbol of degradation and abandonment of the Campo di Mare district, namely Piazza Prima Rosa, where a complete restyling is planned that will finally make it a welcoming and attractive place. Added to this will be the creation of a real sports park in the open area in front of the sea, with the creation of multipurpose pitches, a skate park, also suitable for holding events of national importance and a climbing area for sports climbing and other facilities equipped for numerous activities. Works that come after ten years of work and that today, as Councilor of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital and former Mayor of Cerveteri, I am proud to see the light”.

“As regards the development of the construction sites – specifies Pascucci – aware that we are in the middle of the summer season, we will start working only in the most peripheral areas, precisely to minimize the inconvenience to the bathing season caused by the ongoing construction site. A specific request that was made in recent months by the then Councilor for Public Works Matteo Luchetti, to whom I extend my thanks for the work carried out throughout his mandate”.

“We all still have in our eyes that day in February 2020, a few days before the pandemic, when thanks to a regional funding of over one million euros obtained, the first historic works for the restyling of the Lungomare dei Navigatori Etruschi began – added Pascucci – that day I promised that it would only be the beginning of a real revolution. Today, thanks to the Metropolitan City Pnrr funds for Integrated Urban Plans, the work continues”.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank – concludes the metropolitan councilor Alessio Pascucci – the Metropolitan Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and the Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City Pierluigi Sanna, always attentive to the needs of all the territories and of the Coast but also Marco Di Stefano who as manager of the Municipality of Cerveteri followed the financing request together with the councilor Matteo Luchetti and Salvatore Bernucci, who followed the procedures”.

The opening ceremony of the construction site is scheduled for today, Monday 1 July at 5:00 pm in Piazza Prima Rosa in Campo di Mare. (Photo: Elena Gubetti Facebook Page).
