A dramatic accident involving a three-year-old child occurred yesterday evening in Guardia Piemontese, in the Cosenza area. Around 6:30 p.m., the iron gate of a beach resort suddenly collapsed, overwhelming the child who was nearby.

Immediately after the accident, the child’s parents and other people present raised the alarm and requested emergency intervention. A 118 helicopter arrived on the scene, quickly assessed the child’s condition and opted for emergency transport to the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza.

Once at the hospital, the child underwent emergency surgery overnight. He is currently hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Annunziata in Cosenza, where his conditions, although stationary, are described as very serious.

The precise causes of the gate’s failure are at the center of an investigation conducted by the Paola Prosecutor’s Office, while the Carabinieri forces also operated at the site of the accident, as well as personnel from the Coast Guard and the Cetraro Port Authority. .
