More bloody asphalt in Naples. Around 9:45 pm yesterday a serious fatal road accident occurred on via Sant’Ignazio di Loyola, in the hospital area. A Piaggio Cruiser motorcycle, driven by a 36-year-old Neapolitan man, collided head-on with a Range Rover, driven by a 21-year-old from Cerignola, near number 188. During the impact, the motorcycle got stuck under the left front part of the Range Rover, causing the motorcyclist to be thrown onto the road surface. The driver of the Range Rover promptly alerted the emergency services. The 118 personnel, who arrived on the scene, could do nothing but confirm the death of the motorcyclist. The local police road accident unit intervened at the scene of the accident to carry out the necessary technical surveys. The driver of the Range Rover was subjected to toxicological tests, while the body of the motorcyclist was made available to the judicial authorities. Both vehicles involved were seized. Investigations are ongoing to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident. The local police of Naples continues to be committed to protecting road safety and preventing accidents, through constant and targeted checks on the territory.
