A 40-year-old was reported (and fined) who yesterday afternoon, Sunday 30 June 2024, in Brugherio, insulted and attacked the local police officers who had ordered him to put out a fire set inside his garage.
Entrepreneur lights a fire
It happened around 4:00 PM, in the western part of the city. It all started when the officers noticed black smoke rising into the sky. Following it, they arrived at a private property where some material was burning. The intent of the Local was first to put everything out, and then to fine the man according to the Urban Police Regulations.
The request to turn it off (and the documents)
The 40-year-old didn’t want to hand over his identification documents to the officers, insulting them. Then, convinced, he showed them a partial Italian identity card, but the photograph was missing. At that point, after telling him that it was necessary to take him to the command for identification, the 40-year-old lashed out at the operators, who ended up on the ground in an attempt to block him and bring him back to calm.
The attack on the officers and the complaint
In the end, the 40-year-old of Romanian origins, resident in the Varese area, but with a business in Brugherio, was reported at large to the judicial authorities for threats, resistance and violence against a public official. To this was added a fine of 100 euros for having violated the article of the Urban Police Regulation that prohibits the lighting of unauthorized fires.
The injured operator ended up in hospital
One of the attacked officers was injured, ending up in hospital and being deemed curable with a prognosis of 5 days. This is the same officer who on Saturday 29 June 2024 attempted, unfortunately in vain, to resuscitate a man found in a car on via Bindellera.
Another episode of violence against the Local Police
Yesterday’s attack was the second in just a few days against local police workers: the first had happened to a policeman, near the pension, who had been thrown to the ground by an enraged motorist at the headquarters for having received a fine for a ban on stopover.
