Dario Costantini, highlights the challenges and opportunities that characterize the craft sector and small and medium-sized enterprises.

In the twenty-fifth episode of “Lo specchio di Piacenza”, a format created and hosted by director Nicoletta Bracchi, he was a guest Dario Constantininational president of Cna for the four-year period 2021-2025. During the interview, Costantini illustrated the path that led him to hold this prestigious position, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that characterize the sector of craftsmanship and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Successful entrepreneur

His story is that of a successful entrepreneur, an influential association leader and a committed citizen. The episode offered a glimpse not only of Costantini’s leadership, but also of the role that Cna plays in the economic and social fabric of the country. “With approximately 630 thousand members and 1,100 branches,” Costantini recalled, “the organization represents a vast network of entrepreneurs and artisans who contribute significantly to the growth and sustainability of the Italian economy.”

“I live in Rome, but I always read Libertà”

Director Bracchi was able to create a stimulating dialogue, allowing Costantini to tell his story not only as a professional but also as a man tied to his Piacenza roots (“I live in Rome and I don’t go back to the city often but every morning the first newspaper I read is Libertà”).

He spoke about his vision, underlining “the importance of adapting to technological and market changes, without losing sight of the traditional values that have always characterized Italian craftsmanship”. “I am fortunate,” he added, “to represent people who created this country, people who with their work and foresight have built the foundations of Italy. My family has always understood the value of my commitment, supporting me at every step. In 1962, my father Gianni began working as a refrigeration engineer and founded the Costantini company, which continues today thanks to me and my brother Massimo. Our children will bring new coordinates, and in part they already do, with a strong sensitivity towards the energy transition. A sort of pact that we have called Costantini Next Generation”.

Work, Energy and Well-being of the Elderly

“I care about three focuses: work, energy and the well-being of the elderly. The artisans ask me for more manpower and ask us to lower the cost of energy. We must create an economic environment in which every individual can find decent work opportunities. This means supporting local businesses and facilitating innovation. The energy issue is equally crucial. We need policies that promote the use of renewable and sustainable energy, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering energy costs for families and businesses”.

Costantini is very close to the non-profit organization “Progetto Vita – Il cuore di Piacenza” which launched the first European project of early defibrillation in the area to prevent sudden death from cardiac arrest: “There are people of absolute importance who represent an example for the community and an excellence for Piacenza: Dr. Daniela Aschieri, founder of the Project, is one of these”.
