George Russell wins a daring 2024 Formula 1 Austrian GP by taking advantage of a crazy accident between Verstappen and Norris a few laps from the end. On the podium were Piastri with McLaren and Sainz with Ferrari while Leclerc saw his race compromised right from the start due to a contact that damaged his SF-24.

George Russell wins crazy Formula 1 2024 Austrian GP which saw the two great protagonists of the race, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris took each other out in an incredible crash with just a few laps to go while they were duelling for the win (punctures for both who had to return slowly to the pits), an accident for which the Dutchman from Red Bull was held responsible (punished with a 10 second penalty upon rejoining the track while the McLaren driver was forced to retire).

The Briton from Mercedes therefore took advantage of the disastrous contact between the two to take the lead and go on to win a race in which he was always very distant from the Red Bull and McLaren of Verstappen and Norris. Oscar Piastri also benefited from this and finished in second place. (and in the end he was even going to get Russell) and Carlos Sainz who therefore ended a disastrous weekend on the Red Bull Ring by giving Ferrari a podium who had seen Charles Leclerc (11th at the checkered flag) compromise his race at the start due to a contact with Piastri in which the front wing of his SF-24 was damaged.
