5 million euros to support international co-productions, works of regional interest and the promotion of Lazio in the world: this is what the first 2024 window of the “Lazio Cine International” call offers, open until 19 July.

An opportunity for companies in the sector: the call is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and producers of cinematographic, television or web works in Lazio, with the aim of strengthening their competitiveness and internationalisation.

Focus on co-productions and locations: the call specifically supports audiovisual co-productions that involve the Lazio and foreign industries, with international distribution and that enhance local locations.

Non-repayable contributions up to 50% of costs: the Lazio Region provides non-repayable contributions up to 50% of the eligible costs, with a maximum of 600,000 euros.

Strategic objectives: “Lazio Cine International” is included among the strategic operations of the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) 2021-2027 for the economic and cultural development of Lazio and its international promotion.

Enhance cinema and tourism: the call aims to:

  • Strengthen the competitiveness of Lazio’s film companies
  • Promote international co-productions
  • Distribute works from Lazio internationally
  • Enhance the locations of Lazio as film sets
  • Increase tourism in Lazio, even in lesser-known areas

“Concrete support for the sector”: the Vice President and Councilor for Economic Development, Roberta Angelilli, underlines the importance of the call for support for the cinematographic and audiovisual sector of Lazio. “The announcement – ​​she adds – has the dual objective of also enhancing the cinematographic locations of Lazio and the receptivity of extraordinary but often little-known places”.

Opportunities for young people: the Head of the Autonomous Cinema Structure, Lorenza Lei, highlights the opportunity for producers to create international works and also address a young audience.

Support and information: the Lazio Region, with the support of Lazio Innova, makes experts available to provide detailed information on the tender, in particular to those who have never participated.
