Two Collio wines win Decanter’s platinum medals

In the 2024 edition of the Decanter World Wine Awards, Fvg wins a total of 213 awards

The Decanter World Wine Awards once again reward Friuli Venezia Giulia and, in particular, i our white wines. Overall, 213 labels from our region have obtained recognition.

Starting from the top, among the 117 bottles selected internationally for the ‘platinum medal’‘, one of the most prestigious awards in the world, there are two wines ‘made in Fvg’, both produced in the Collio area. To achieve oenological excellence, with 97 rating points (second only to theBest in Show‘) they are the Pinot bianco Santarosa 2022 from Castello di Spessa and the ‘Valeris’ Friulano 2022 from the Muzic company of San Floriano.

At Fvg two platinum and four gold medals

Alongside the platinum recognition, Fvg also wins four gold medalsassigned to wines that obtained a rating of 95-96 points. Muzic Company Encores with Sauvignon 2022. They also come from Collio Sturm’s Sauvignon 2022 and Eugenio Collavini’s Broy 2021; completes the picture the 12 Viti Friulano 2022 of La Sclusa, in the Colli Orientali.

Friuli Venezia Giulia then takes home 94 silver medals (evaluation between 90 and 94 points) e 113 bronze (score between 86 and 89 points).

Overall, Italy stands in third position in the international ranking, behind France and Spain.
