5.20pm. Scorzè’s result is also official. Giovanni Battista Mestriner was elected with 52.88% of the votes, around 400 more than the outgoing mayor Nais Marcon, in an entirely centre-right ballot. The latter coalition also celebrates in Noale, while the centre-left wins in Spinea and Vittorio Veneto, where Mirella Balliana exceeded 53% and beat Gianluca Posocco (leagues from the League and Forza Italia) by over eight hundred votes. Broadening our gaze to the rest of Veneto, the centre-right prevails in Rovigo, Bassano and Portogruaro, the centre-left in Valdagno (with a civic candidate), Montecchio Maggiore and Selvazzano Dentro. At a national level, prevalence for the centre-left candidates, victorious in Florence, Bari, Perugia, making a comeback in Potenza and Campobasso, by a very narrow margin in Cremona, and then again in Vibo Valentia and Civitavecchia. For the centre-right, statements were made in Vercelli, Caltanissetta and Urbino. Lecce still in the balance.

4.37pm. After Noale, the official announcement also arrives for Spinea. Franco Bevilacqua (Pd-centre-left) is the new mayor, with 62.59%, against 37.41% of Claudio Tessari (centre-right). Clear victory for Bevilacqua, who had already come close to victory in the first round, and leads the contender by 2,300 votes. Due to abstentionism, both candidates lost around 200 votes, in absolute numbers, compared to the first round. In Scorzè the counting is slower, but Giovanni Battista Mestriner, former mayor and official candidate of the centre-right, is destined to oust the first outgoing citizen Nais Marcon, who won in some sections, but in the total calculation remains at a distance. Halfway through the ballot Mestriner is at 53%, but the voices coming from the other sections are reassuring for him. In Vittorio Veneto, victory is approaching for Mirella Balliana’s centre-left, which has exceeded 53%, even if the counting is not yet concluded

4.20pm. It’s official. Stefano Sorino is the new mayor of Noale. The centre-right candidate obtained 57.65%, against 42.35 for Alessandra Dini, the outgoing deputy mayor of the Andreotti list, with a civic profile. The gap between the two is approximately nine hundred votes. In Scorzè Giovanni Battista Mestriner, official candidate of the centre-right, has 56.9% of the vote one third of the way, against the outgoing mayor Nais Marcon, supported by the local League.

4.05pm. In Vittorio Veneto the advantage of Mirella Balliana (Pd-centre-left) increases over Gianluca Posocco, supported by the Lega defectors and in particular by Toni Da Re. Balliana is at 51.44% with more than half of the ballot, but in numerical terms her advantage it is only 150 votes. The result is still open. There is no doubt, however, about the victories of Franco Bevilacqua in Spinea and Stefano Sorino in Noale. We are just waiting for the official announcement. Broadening our gaze to the rest of Veneto, the centre-right is ahead in Rovigo, Portogruaro and Schio, the centre-left in Valdagno (with a civic candidate). Balance in Bassano del Grappa, with a slight advantage for the centre-right.

3.55pm. In Noale, Stefano Sorino of the centre-right has a fairly clear advantage over the outgoing deputy mayor Alessandra Dini: 57% against 43%, more than halfway through the ballot. In Spinea Franco Bevilacqua (PD-centre-left) maintains a reassuring advantage, with around 65%, almost half of the ballot. He can already be considered, virtually, the mayor of Spinea.

3.39pm. Still partial results from the main municipalities in the area. After the counting of three sections out of 26, in Spinea the centre-left candidate Franco Bevilacqua obtained around two thirds of the votes, a clear advantage over Claudio Tessari. But the scrutiny is still at the beginning.

In the province of Treviso, a very interesting head-to-head between Mirella Balliana (Pd-centre-left), who has around 100 votes ahead of Gianluca Posocco, the candidate of the Lega defectors, starting with the historic leader Toni Da Re.

3pm. Counting has begun in the Municipalities for the run-offs. Three duels in the diocesan territory. In Noale the run-off is between Stefano Sorino, center-right (starting from 36.38%), and Alessandra Dini, outgoing deputy mayor of Patrizia Andreotti’s “civic” council (26.73%). In Scorzè there is a centre-right “derby” between the former mayor Giovanni Battista Mestriner, the “official” candidate of the coalition (46.48%) and the outgoing mayor Nais Marcon, supported by the League (31.38%), which hopes for votes of center-left voters to come back. In Spinea Franco Bevilacqua, from the centre-left, starts with 46.91% against Claudio Tessari, from the centre-right (30.01%).
