Verbania, ballot. Albertella is the new mayor: Brezza defeated

Giandomenico Albertella, a 65 year old architect, is the new mayor of Verbania. The civic exponent who was supported by the “Verbania futuro” and “Loyal with Verbania” lists obtained 51.86% of the votes (6,452). His challenger, Riccardo Brezza (Pd, 5 stars and 4 civic lists) stopped at 48.18% (5,990). This is the revenge of the candidate who was “dumped” at the end of March by the centre-right parties which – after other decisions at regional and national level – had given support to another candidate (Mirella Cristina) who did not reach the ballot.

His challenger, the outgoing councillor Riccardo Brezza, in the run-off he received 400 more votes than in the first round (he went from 5,511 to 5,990). But in this second round Albertella went from 4,439 to 6,452, two thousand more which earned him the victory.

The composition of the new city council

With this result they enter town Council 16 exponents of Verbania futuro and 4 of Leali con Verbania. This is the physiognomy of the new majority.

There minority instead it sees, in addition to Brezza, 5 from the Democratic Party and 1 from the Civica Cambia il vento. Then Mirella Cristina, a member of Fratelli d’Italia (Matteo Marcovicchio) and one of Forza Italia (Samuele D’Alessandro). And then again Patrich Rabaini and Silvia Marchionini.
