Before the race begins, let’s summarize the starting grid. Pole position for Norris, and Max Verstappen completes the front row. Second row for the two excellent Mercedes of Hamilton and Russell. Despite Sainz’s excellent flying lap performance, the Spaniard only qualified 6th behind teammate Leclerc. Fourth row for the Alpines of Gasly and Ocon who definitely took a step forward this weekend. Piastri ranked 9th, confirming a weekend in difficulty compared to his teammate. Home rider Alonso completes the top 10.
With a three-place penalty, Sergio Perez will start from 11th position, followed by Bottas, Hulkenberg and Stroll. Eighth row for Zhou and Magnussen, followed by a disappointing VCARB despite the updates. Albon and Sargeant conclude the grid.

McLaren in particular with Norris has shown excellent pace in long runs, which could worry Red Bull. In free practice – specifying that we do not know the fuel loads with which they ran – Verstappen did not shine, setting disappointing times for the entire simulation. We are waiting for a good Ferrari that can start the fight for the podium with Mercedes.
