An explosion occurred early Saturday morning in Parrano, a village in the Orvieto area in the province of Terni. The resulting fire also affected a car parked nearby. In addition to the 115 personnel from Orvieto, fellow firefighters from Città della Pieve intervened on site.

The 75-year-old resident of the collapsed house was rescued by 118 personnel and airlifted with ‘Nibbio’ to the ‘Santa Maria Misericordia’ hospital in Perugia in very serious conditions – ‘code red’ – with burns on over 70% of her body. as well as vertebral fractures.
