As you all know, since yesterday afternoon Nicolò Melli is no longer officially a player of Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano. The choice to leave the Red Shoes 3 years after his return from Europe and the NBA broke the hearts of all the red and white fans as they rightly saw Nik as the captain and symbol of this team.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, it depends on your point of view), however, life changes and now we need to think about the next team that will enjoy the performances of the Italbasket captain. From what we have learned, the most likely destination at the moment is Fenerbahce Istanbul, where he would meet up with his former teammate, Devon Hall.
Nicolò Melli has never hidden his love for the capital of Türkiye. Both for the organization of the club, led by Maurizio Gherardini, and for the city, one of the most beautiful and fascinating in the world. He and Gigi Datome had some wonderful moments with Fenerbahce and in Istanbulfor this reason he will hardly choose another city.
There has been talk of Partizan Belgrade and Real Madrid for him, but it seems they are not his favorite destinations and in the end he should settle at the court of Sarunas Jasikevicius, barring any crazy last minute offers.
