Massimo Tedeschi, guest of the University of Salò, will be the protagonist of the Salòtto d’Autore presents: “Ignoble death of Bruno D. Oratorio for ten voices (plus one) on the disasters of war”.

Appointment on Thursday 27 June 2024 at 8.30 pm in the premises of the Salo’tto della Cultura in via Leonesio 4, the writer and journalist Massimo Tedeschi. Graduated in Philosophy at the University of Milan, professor at the Catholic University of Brescia, he is president of theBrescian Artists Association, partner ofUniversity of Salò and of theUniversity of Brescia. He directs the magazines Civiltà Bresciana and Natura Bresciana. As a journalist he was a correspondent for Bresciaoggi, editor-in-chief of the Corriere della Sera and has also collaborated with various newspapers. He writes about economics, politics, culture and since 2016 he has published crime books set on Lake Garda in the 1930s. He renovated his ancestors’ house, an old mill, where he lives with his wife Paola, a dog and a cat. And many books.

The work

The work “Ignoble death of Bruno D. Oratorio for ten voices (plus one) on the disasters of war” tells of a dark episode of the Second World War that occurred in the Brescia valleys, discovered among the papers of an archive, triggers a narrative process that revolves around the execution of a soldier of the National Republican Guard hanged for a minor crime. Protagonists and witnesses, imaginary or real, of the tragic end of Bruno D. tell, each with their own language and from their own point of view, a tragic page of the war in our country. The result is an oratory with many voices, a question to the consciences of yesterday and today, a painful and dramatic indictment against the disasters of war, of all wars.
