The new changes to fuel prices in Slovenia came into force today. With excise duties unchanged, the maximum permitted retail costs of petrol, diesel and LPG from today Tuesday 18 June to Monday 1 July inclusive will be equal to 1.445 euros per liter of petrol, 1.455 euros per liter of diesel and 1,089 euros per liter of LPG. The Ljubljana government made this known, thus sanctioning a further reduction in prices at pumps across the border.

In accordance with government regulation on the prices of certain petroleum products, outside the area of motorways and expressways, traders’ margins are limited and can amount to a maximum of 0.0783 euros per liter of diesel, 0.0794 euros per liter of petrol and 0.08 euros per liter for LPG. Prices will continue to be calculated on the basis of a methodology based on the trend in the costs of oil derivatives on the world market (source: English PLATT’S European Marketscan) and on the trend of the US dollar-euro exchange rate.

Continuing his battle for a change in regional discounts is the distributor manager of Gorizia, Manuel Rizzi, highlighting how, in many service stations, there is a discrepancy between the fuel delivery methods communicated to the Price Observatory and those actually practice. According to the legislation, managers must communicate and apply the prices for the “self” service and voluntarily communicate the prices for the “served” mode during opening hours. However, in some distributors, the price indicated as “self” would also be applied for the “served” service, creating a situation of unfair competition.

Furthermore, the manager denounced the fact that on the observatory and at the point of sale the Self prices should not be similar to those of the Servito. Reports also sent to the Minister of Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, without response. He therefore also expresses strong disappointment towards the Meloni government, accusing the leaders of not keeping the promises made to citizens regarding transparency and legality.
