Post flood, General Figliuolo confirmed as commissioner until the end of 2024; refunds of movable property, De Pascale asks to raise the ceiling by 6 thousand euros

General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo will remain commissioner for post-flood reconstruction until the end of 2024. In fact, there is the decree, released in the days of the European and Administrative elections, for its extension for another six months. The publication in the Official Journal took place on 11 June.
Meanwhile, the controversy continues over the reimbursements approved by the Government for movable property, which are mere crumbs compared to the needs of families and businesses. In the same decree the ceiling of 6,000 euros per request is established, but the flood committees are not willing. “It is unthinkable to be able to buy back furniture, appliances, vehicles and everything that has been damaged by water and mud.” The decree provides for a maximum expenditure of 210 million euros: considering a maximum contribution of 6000 euros per home, the expected requests are a maximum of 35,000.
The mayor and president of the Province of Ravenna Michele De Pascale does not give up, taking pen and paper and writing to the senators elected in Emilia-Romagna to ask to modify the decree-law n.76 and increase the maximum compensation of 6,000 euros for movable property destroyed or damaged by the flood in Emilia-Romagna.
