The climber’s body was recovered using a helicopter and transported to Courmayeur, while in the meantime his family members in Veneto were informed. The friend who was with him was in shock.
Dissegna, a butcher by profession with activities in Fellette, was a long-time mountaineer, member of the CAI of Bassano since 2009, an organization in which he held the role of sectional instructor: he was in fact part of the Franco Gessi Mountaineering School of the CAI of Bassano. He was the uncle of the current mayor of Romano d’Ezzelino, Simone Bontorin.
